SEO Audit & Optimization
A practical demonstration of how I approach technical SEO, keyword research, on-page optimization, website structure, indexing, performance and search visibility.
A practical SEO project built on my own website
Instead of presenting a fictional client case study, I used my own business website, amarjeetgrowth.com, as a practical SEO implementation project.
The objective of this project is to demonstrate my understanding of the complete SEO workflow — from website audit and keyword research to on-page optimization, technical SEO, indexing, performance analysis and ongoing optimization.
Important: This is a self-initiated portfolio project based on my own business website. It is not presented as a client case study, employment project or fabricated performance campaign.
Because the website is relatively new, the focus of this project is on demonstrating the SEO process, implementation approach and practical understanding rather than claiming artificial traffic or ranking results.
My approach to SEO
I approach SEO as a complete process rather than simply adding keywords to a webpage. The first step is understanding the business, website structure, search intent and technical condition of the website.
Audit
Understand the current website structure, technical issues, indexing condition and on-page elements.
Research
Identify relevant keywords and understand the search intent behind the target audience's queries.
Optimize
Improve page structure, content, metadata, headings, internal links and technical elements.
Measure
Use available search and analytics data to understand performance and identify further optimization opportunities.
Website SEO Audit
Before optimizing individual pages, I review the website from both a search engine and user experience perspective.
The audit helps identify areas that can affect crawling, indexing, relevance, usability and overall search visibility.
Keyword Research & Search Intent
Keyword research is used to understand what potential customers are searching for and how those searches relate to the services offered by a business.
My approach is to start with the business offering, identify relevant search themes, group related keywords and then map those keywords to the most appropriate pages.
Example keyword themes
- Performance Marketing
- Google Ads
- Meta Ads
- SEO Services
- Digital Marketing
- WordPress Development
- Analytics & Tracking
Rather than forcing keywords into content, I focus on matching the page with the user's search intent and providing useful, relevant information.
On-Page SEO Optimization
On-page SEO focuses on making each page clear and relevant for both search engines and users.
Key elements I consider
- SEO-friendly page title
- Relevant meta description
- Clear H1 heading
- Logical H2 and H3 structure
- Search-intent-focused content
- Relevant internal links
- Descriptive image alt text
- Clean and meaningful URLs
- Content readability and user experience
The objective is not keyword stuffing. The objective is to make the page clearly communicate what it is about while providing a useful experience for the visitor.
Technical SEO Foundation
Technical SEO creates the foundation that allows search engines to crawl, understand and potentially index website content.
Technical SEO objective
The goal is to remove avoidable technical barriers and create a clean website structure before focusing heavily on long-term organic growth.
Search Engine Indexing
A page needs to be accessible and indexable before it can meaningfully participate in organic search results.
For this project, indexing is treated as an important part of the SEO workflow. Search engine tools can be used to understand whether important pages are being discovered and indexed.
Practical monitoring: Search Console can be used to review search performance, queries, pages and indexing-related information once sufficient data becomes available.
As this is a newly launched website, search data may initially be limited. Performance will therefore be treated as a baseline that can be monitored and improved over time.
Evidence of the SEO Process
The following areas can be documented with screenshots from the actual website and SEO tools. These are intended to demonstrate the implementation process rather than claim fabricated results.
Google Search Console — Performance
Search Performance
Screenshot of Search Console performance data showing impressions, clicks, CTR and average position when sufficient data is available.
Search Console — Queries
Search Queries
Shows the actual search queries for which the website has appeared in Google Search.
WordPress SEO Settings
On-Page SEO Setup
Screenshot of the WordPress SEO configuration showing page title, meta description or other relevant on-page elements.
PageSpeed Insights
Website Performance
PageSpeed results can be used as a performance baseline and to identify areas for technical improvement.
Analytics & Measurement
SEO should not be treated as a one-time activity. Once organic traffic begins to develop, analytics and search performance data can be used to understand which pages and search themes are receiving attention.
GA4 can help analyze website traffic and user acquisition, while Search Console provides search-specific visibility data.
This creates a measurement loop:
Page Speed & User Experience
Website performance is an important part of creating a good experience for visitors. As part of the SEO workflow, I review page performance and look for opportunities to improve loading behaviour and usability.
The performance review can include mobile and desktop testing, page weight, loading behaviour, image optimization and other technical factors.
Portfolio evidence: A PageSpeed Insights screenshot can be added here to show the website's current performance baseline.
SEO is an ongoing optimization process
SEO does not end after publishing a page. Search behaviour, competition, content quality and website performance can change over time.
My approach is to use available data to identify opportunities, make improvements, measure the outcome and continue optimizing.
Observe
Review available search, analytics and website data.
Identify
Find pages, keywords or technical areas that need attention.
Improve
Apply relevant content, technical or on-page improvements.
Measure
Review future performance and identify the next opportunity.
What this project demonstrates
This practical project demonstrates my understanding of the following SEO areas:
A transparent practical project
Why I am showing my own website
This project is based on my own business website and was created to demonstrate my practical approach to SEO.
Since the website is newly launched, I am not presenting artificial traffic numbers, fabricated rankings or fictional client results.
Instead, this project documents the SEO framework, optimization process, technical considerations and measurement approach that I would apply when working on a business website.
As the website continues to grow, search performance can be monitored and future improvements can be documented as part of the ongoing project.
